  • Task 1: Describe visual data (graph, chart, map, process)
  • Task 2: Write an academic essay on an issue or opinion

  • Format same as General test
  • Involves an introduction, cue card response, and extended discussion

IELTS Online (at home) – Only available for the Academic version

• Identical format and scoring
• Video call speaking test

Technical Requirements for IELTS Online

• Device: Desktop/laptop only
• OS: Windows 10 or latest macOS
• Stable broadband, webcam, microphone
• No tablets, phones, virtual backgrounds, or multiple screens

Registration Steps

• Check test dates on the official IELTS website
• Register and pay
• Receive system check and login details
• Take the test at home
• Get results online

IELTS Exam Fee in India

• Typically ranges from ₹16,000 to ₹18,500

Payment Methods

• Online: Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, Paytm
• Offline: Demand Draft or Bank Deposit

Additional Costs

• Rechecking Fee
• Extra TRFs (₹300/university after 5 TRFs)

Refund Policy

• Cancel more than 5 weeks before test: 75% refund
• Cancel less than 5 weeks before test: No refund
• Date change: Admin fee applies

• Computer-delivered: 2–5 days
• Paper-based: 13 days
